Rentals Runaway Bay

" Ken and Lucille, We had a fabulous trip down at sweet spot- we are thinking about going down again next year. The villa and beach were awesome- the staff was great and the nannies were terrific with the kids. A few things- we were unaware that there was a night security guard, and that the staff lived on the property. Also, it is good to know that there was a car on the property in case of an emergency. The bus rental company was great, and I would never recommend renting a car. A few notes for the future- if going with kids- have people request the Oscar Mayer hot dogs- the original ones the cook purchased were not what the kids were used to. The hamburgers were pre made and not something we would recommend! -Some great dishes were - the Jerk Chicken, the roast pork, the roast chicken, the shrimp in coconut milk, and the beef with mushrooms and onions, the cornbread was awesome. There was a great little bar right next door that had a full menu - we had the fries there which were very good.- the drinks were great too. They had many beach toys and pool floats for the kids already there. There was no problem with any of the outlets working with our baby monitors etc I would recommend to bring enough cash- our friends had to get cash towards the end of the trip and there were some problems with the nearby cash machines not working. Located on a wide, sandy beach, Sweet Spot is like a pretty jewel box next to the sea. Its remarkable location is the best of all worlds: a 6,000 sq.ft. private home with a huge lawn and beach, just yards from the Breezes Golf Pro Shop which offers unlimited complimentary green fees to Sweet Spot guests.

The interior of Sweet Spot is brightly furnished and cheerful. French doors open wide to the lovely sea view. All bedrooms have flat screen TV's and are air-conditioned (however, you may wish to leave your doors open at night to hear the waves lapping on the beach). The DSS satellite system offers news, sports, movies, family and children's programming plus several music stations.

The large lawn, trimmed in colorful hibiscus, bougainvillea, shrimp flowers, oleander, banana trees and stately coconut palms, is a great playground for table tennis and volleyball - or merely napping in the hammock in the shade of the Cassia Fistula tree with its beautiful cascading bunches of yellow flowers.

Beyond the lawn is the 10,000 sq.ft beach, clear water and excellent reef just 50' offshore. Sea kayaks and snorkeling equipment are complimentary. As a special evening treat, the staff will plan a poolside barbecue with chicken, ribs, chops, fish or lobster - or even a nighttime bonfire on the beach.

Plan to spend several hours here, the kids love it!

Chukka Cove Beach Ride Equestrian center, holds international polo matches and or equestrian events. Rides depart Chukka Cove Polo Club at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Splendid 3-hour trail ride on well-tended animals ending in excellent ride in the sea.

Green Grotto Caves freshwater fishing for children as well as Dolphin Cove's "Swim with the Dolphins" make great famiy trips!
